"Romanian composer and sound artist Alexandru Hegyesi takes the listener again through a sound journey although different in scope and approach as last year’ s “Unseen Realm”. Hegyesi self released this reissue and I’m glad he did. Where “Unseen Realm” relied on extensive mixing, musique concrete and field recordings to stitch together a narrative on this one he seems more focused ….but only for a song at a time. This is not a complaint, this multi genre journey is impressive as the opening track “Deep Water”carries us almost into occult realms with eerie tension and space induced electronics.
The second track “The Clarity of Shadows” continues with the laid back vibe but this time in full of spiritual jazz mode. Where in “Unseen Realm” the composer switched through genres in the course of one song, here he holds true to whatever he starts with in the beginning. This track works so well as a logical extension of the first.
Track three flows from the hints of spiritual jazz in the preceding into “Towards Silence”
With its lush, beautiful clarinet led ambiance creating a hazy, dreamlike state. The ambiance and uses of silence in this song exudes a patience to bring forth certain ideas to the listener that in lesser hands could have tripled over each other. There is also playful uses of experimental rock in the opening section." (Samuel Goff)
"[...] La prima release ufficiale è Pribegie di Shanyio, progetto del musicista romeno Alexandru Hegyesi (di cui non abbiamo molte informazioni). Tra i collaboratori figurano Loalue, Xu, Thomas Almadi. Da un primo ascolto emerge subito l’atmosfera opprimente e cupa che si cocncretizza in strutture ambient ed elettroacustiche quasi mai regolari e con suggestioni “lisergico-psichedeliche”."

"[...] Ambient music is often, purposefully, less than the sum of its parts: small elements that in combination seem to distract from each other, creating a void where, with a slight adjustment, instead there might have been fierce collisions and considerable density. Listening to the brittle, elegant, just-shy-of-neutral glisten that is “Alunecând din glasul unui înger” (or “Sliding the Voice of an Angel,” translated from the Romanian), the ear moves from rough textures to echoed piano to ringing phones to piping rhythmic elements, none of which last long enough to serve as a point of orientation. Instead, one meanders through a gentle, ever so slightly worrisome landscape. [...]"
