EN: The Celestial Mechanics of Providence is a piano-sculpture, a tribute to God's care for all His creation. Divine providence hides behind natural phenomena, coincidences and synchronicity; it manifests dramatically but also delicately, on a cosmic or atomic scale alike. The oversized clock-like mechanism is conceptually based on the synergistic interaction of several providential forces working precisely together to maintain cosmic order.
The idea of time, its passage, its use, its offer, which is revealed by the mechanical ensemble, on the other hand, hides multiple levels of message encryption, either through the text or through its obscure positioning. The mechanism is reflected on all sides by golden mirrored surfaces, thus making the connection with the glossy bronze of the previous piano -sculpture called Musica Universalis.
The piano key inscriptions are divided into three categories:
1. Preservation of things and beings in their original form, as a way of continuous creation.
2. The cooperation, collaboration, or assistance which God gives to the world, through the limits of natural laws, so that the final effect is both the work of man and of God.
3. Governing of creatures to achieve and fulfill the reason for their existence.
The relevance of the inscriptions used within the artworks, has the same importance as the spatial expression of the two piano-sculptures. These inscriptions always have an educative, formative role, adding thematic content to the artistic language elements. The inscriptions have as their source the interdisciplinary study undertaken often years before the realization of the object itself, being condensed, essentialized, carefully selected to be part of the composition of the work.
The creation of the sculpture is continued by each pianist or composer who interacts with it, being therefore always in the making, in potentiality, a collective work.
